October so far... In a nut shell

We have had another crazy busy month since my last post. I'm going to break it down by weekend:

October 2 & 3
Saturday was Grace's baby shower. We were baby sitting Logan so it was an experience for us! We've never been to a party where we had to worry about a little one. It was a window into our life once we have a little one, and thankfully we both agree that we aren't ready! :) Here are some pictures from the baby shower!

She's gonna pop soon!

Dennis is keeping Logan busy...

Poor baby was sooo tired on the way home. This is how he fell asleep

Sunday, I went to Palmdale with Jessica to get some last minute wedding stuff done. I found that Palmdale is literally in the middle of nowhere and a good place if I ever need a place to hide the bodies (Just kidding of course!) Here are some pictures of a great hiding place. lol

October 9 & 10
Saturday night was Jessica's bachelorette party. We headed out to Universal City Walk to eat at Bubba Gumps, and then out to Howl at the moon! We had such a good time! Jessica is such a wild woman up dancing on the stage shaking her booty! Here are a couple of pics I took with my cell phone since my camera sucked. I charged it but it really only took 1 picture!

Sunday was spend relaxing!!!

October 16 & 17

Saturday we carved pumpkins and then went to a Halloween party that Stacey had invited us to. Our costumes were a HIT! Here are some pics from the party.

The Devil camping trip

We were looking forward to this great group camping trip... Well that didn't happen... Dennis and I were the only ones who maned up and made the trip out to Lake Naciemento. It was about 4 1/2 hrs drive. We had mixed feelings since (A) we've never been camping just Dennis and I and (B) we had no idea what to expect at this camp ground.

We got there around 9am which was nice because it wasn't hot while we were setting up. We drove around the campsites looking for a site and it was pretty full... We ended up in the very 1st spot that you pass when driving in. It turned out to be an awesome spot. We spent A LOT of time people watching, there were sooo many people coming in and out so we have plenty to look at.
You can't really see the ranger shack but it's right behind where the chairs are (Right corner)

Home sweet home!

All day Saturday it was so HOT! I sat and was reading the whole time while Dennis observed the natives. We weren't alone the whole trip, we had many wild life friends. There were squirrels EVERYWHERE. They were staking us out just looking for something to drop on the ground or for us to gift them something. Dennis being Dennis was throwing bread and pancakes and anything else to them. They were his #1 fans that day. I personally wish they would have disappeared. they were kinda creepy how forward they were. I was waiting for a brave one to see something he wanted and go and grab it. Oh wait... that actually happened. A god damn squirrel went up on the table and stole 1/2 a loaf of bread. Right there in broad daylight, right there in front of our faces...  Oh and there was a garden snake that the people next to us thought was a cobra. They started flipping out and grabbed the biggest piece of wood and attacked the poor thing. Dennis was tempted to go and pick it up and make it one with nature again but they were so drama about it that we just let them do their business while we laughed at them.

Later in the evening I was just over it, thank god they had showers... I don't know what I would have done if they didn't have showers... I probably would have headed home. They were a blessing after baking in the hot ass weather all day.

Sunday STARTED out a pleasant day, the ending NOT so pleasant. Dennis was in heaven since the plan for the day was to go fishing. He went online before we left and got fishing licences for us and everything... we drove down from the campsite to the lake to see where we could fish. We were informed that if you didn't have a boat (which we didn't) you would need to hike down to a place to fish. So Dennis and I went out on a scouting mission to see if there was an area close that would work for us to fish. We found what we thought was the perfect spot. We grabbed our fishing poles and  chairs and set on on what would turn out to be the worst experience ever...

I know I'm dramatic but seriously it gets worse... Let me set the scene, we are in flip flops and shorts trying to "hike" down the mountain to the water. The "path" and I put it in quotes because it was little more then a 1ft wide strip of dirt that was steep as hell. Dennis lost his footing and flew up in the air and laded straight on his butt. I'm not joking his feet literally flew up to the level if his face and his body with all the force landed splat right on his butt. We would later find out that he broke his tail bone. Keep in mind that this was happening right in front of my face and in slow motion. I watched there as his head snapped back, which I swore hit the ground. He didn't move for a second which was the longest second of my life. He started laughing so I knew he was okay. Thank god he had his fishing backpack on, otherwise he would have hit his head. Instead of heading back at this point he decides he's okay to push forward. Knowing us what else would you expect. :)

Now we get to the steepest part of the journey. It's basically a rock in an "V" shape which we has to scoot down on our butts. This wasn't a sign for us to stop either. Seriously we were on a mission. After about 20 min in we reach lake level. It was SO flippen hot out that we could not wait to get into the water. Dennis slips off his sandals and takes 1 step into the water and sinks down all the way to his waist. He was stuck in the quicksand for a minute. We knew at this point that this excursion was not meant to happen. We just couldn't get up the energy to get back up the hill. We sat around for and hour or so getting up the motivation to get going... The funny thing is that it was easier to get up the hill then it was to get down.

I'm pretty sure that we sat in the car for 1/2 hr just sitting in the AC. We had just been through and ordeal. :)

One of his many Battle wounds

The rest of the day was spend like this:

KNOCKED OUT!

After we were rested and showered it was time for dinner and more relaxing. We were sitting there surrounded by out squirrel friends and Dennis tells me look and i turn and there is a deer not 5 feet from me. Of course my first instinct is to ask are they mean. lol Dennis just laughed at me while we watched this poor harmless deer wander around our campsite. I was DONE with the day at this point and ready to go to sleep. We decided that we were going to leave early in the am so we needed to pack up the site first. we rushed to get it done and were in bed by 9pm.

So our last brush with nature was at 5am in the dark after Dennis and I made a trip to the rest room. We keep hearing something but didn't know what it was. Dennis had the flashlight and was flashing it around when I got a glimpse of  yellow eyes on the tree right if front of us. I grab the light from him and see a raccoon climbing down the tree.  There wasn't a couple raccoons there were 6 of them. we kept flashing the light hoping that they would go away. They did but they didn't go far. They sat and watched us as we packed up the tent and said farewell to one of the most eventful camping trips we've ever had.

The trip home was a long one for Dennis, every bump hurt his booty. I felt terrible every time the car would hit a bump. Overall we had a good time. We enjoy each others company and that's all we need to have a good time!

We live for lazy weekends...

This weekend was exactly what we needed... RELAXING.

We have so much on our plate sometimes it's refreshing just to have a weekend with nothing planned. Saturday was spent on the couch. I slept most of the day. Man oh man did I need it! Sunday we chilled out again and had dinner with friends...

I am so glad that Dennis and I can just sit together and watch TV doing nothing. I seriously love that man :)

I love this pic of us!

We have a camping trip planned for Labor day weekend. Santa Barbara here we come!

Fun in the Sun

Wow, what do you know, I'm actually blogging on time this week... Hope this kicks my butt into shape!

Friday night Dennis and I met his parents and Stacey in Carlsbad, Ca. A friend of theirs loaned them a time share for the week. It was right on the beach. Here is a view out the patio window.

Our gracious hosts made dinner and then we just hung out and relaxed later on in the night we went walking around the streets near the condo. It was a pretty nice area. There were little shops and restaurants everywhere. We heard music coming from a little outdoor patio area. We walked over and there was this band playing, but the best part was the white people dancing. They were so in to it. It was the highlight of the night... Seriously we sat and watched for a whole hour!  You can't really see anything in the picture below but you can get a good idea of our view.

Sunday I went and had lunch with Grace. She is totally awesome and I love spending time with her! After that I met up with Dennis and Stacey to go to Miguel's b-day party. Of course we had to stop and visit with Lisa & Logan. He is just the cutest! :)

Tomorrow is Dennis' 1st Softball game! I can't wait to see him play! I'm sure there will be a second post this week!

Forgive me blog, for I have sinned...

I took a little blogging siesta! I will admit most of it had to do with the fact that it takes forever to upload pictures now and a little was me being lazy. Uploading pictures is pretty annoying but I hate sitting here for hours trying to upload 10 pictures...

Here is a recap of the last months good times...

Basically there was a baseball game, a few actually, a trip to Laughlin, Lewis came to visit, Dennis went to the All star game, various birthday's, dinners and a bunch of other fun things that I can't remember to mention...

I've made a life changing decision to back to school, I can't wait to get started.... I'll elaborate later in the year.

I'm making a promise to myself, and to you whoever is reading this, that I will revert back to blogging every week... And... I will enjoy it! :)

Excuses, excuses, excuses

I'm full of them! I started this blog with the intention to blog about every weekend... I've been pretty successful so far... Then I just got busy. Crazy busy... and my blogs got posted later and later... A lot has happened in the last week and 1/2. All Start game (Dennis is blogging about that) Carmen's baby shower, my birthday (Bowling party, and Angels game). This weekend is going to be busy too. Debbie's wedding and Logan's 1st Birthday... I'm going to try and get last weekends blogging done before the weekend but I can't guarantee that I will... I have every intention but you know how that is... For sure I will blog about this weekend and maybe just tie the two together... Well see what happens...

Lunching with the ladies...

I had a lovely Saturday afternoon with a group of lovely ladies... We are all connected through our Boyfriends/ Husband/ or in Nancy's case brothers. We never get a chance to get together since were all on different schedules, so this week we decided that no matter what we were going to make it work.

We went to a restaurant in Rutabagas in Fullerton. Mandy made the suggestion. I was Delicious! Very homemade-ish style.  Here is our group shot. It took a couple of tries but we got it... eventually.

                                                   Missing one...

Almost, but cut off

Finally got it!

After lunch I hung out with Lisa and Logan. He is too cute!

He loves himself

They are too cute!

God bless America!

After coming back from Camping, unloading the truck, resting and then have to get ready again I wasn't in the mood to go or do anything! But... I've always looked forward to the 4th of July for the Fireworks! Yes, I know the history behind the day and yes I am thankful for the freedoms that we all have today, but even as a kid I loved the fireworks!

So Stacey, Andrea, Dennis and I left to head to Santana Park, where the City of Corona was having a festival/ fair. Fireworks aren't allowed since were in the middle of the desert, so the city puts on a show. We didn't know what to expect but we were impressed. There was a shuttle from the high school so we didn't have to worry about parking. We parked, got in the bus and got dropped off right in front of the park. They had food booths, a huge stage with a band and all kinds of jump houses for the kids. There were so many people there!  There was an awesome fly over, which ooh and awed the crowd. The fireworks were really good. The show lasted for at least 25 min. I can't wait until next year!
