66ers and Strawberries

So again, we OVERBOOKED our weekend. And when I say (we), I mean I overbooked. Saturday morning we were up and the crack of dawn for the community yard sales. Dennis' parents neighborhood does a huge yard sale every year in May. You end up getting a TON of people, who dig and try to talk you down from your already SUPER DUPER low prices. Seriously people, if you wanted to get something free you should have stole it. When someone is trying to talk you down from $.50, there is a problem. We didn't sell much, just some extra stuff that we had either acquired free or stuff that we had that was old and we'd never use again. Over all we made about $70. Not to shabby, if I do say so...

After the yard sale we headed home to get ready for the baseball game. Dennis got tickets for a Dodger's minor league team the Inland Empire 66ers. The tickets were $10 and we were literally front row behind home plate. Check out some of the pictures we took:

Front & Center

The two of us!

The Mascot, I'll admit he made the game. He kept cracking us up!

The team had cheerleaders. LOL

Dennis' dream job: To clock the pitches for a MLB team:

Best/ Worst beer: Best cause it hit the spot, worst cause it was Bud Light.

Highlight of the game: They showed Dennis and I on the jumbo screen and we busted the ROBOT! All the people around us starting laughing and clapping! Too funny, We seriously have a blast doing random stuff!

Sunday we woke up early and headed out to the Strawberry festival with our friends Debbie & Dustin. They accompanied us on the 1 1/2 hr trip up to Oxnard. Thankfully we took the shuttle. It was free and we were able to avoid the millions of cars and people that were already there.

The lines for everything were crazy long. CRAZY LONG. Dennis and I opted for food-food, such as curly fries, a hot link, and a tri tip sandwich. Debbie and Dustin were more adventurous. They had strawberry pizza (Dough, with cream cheese, strawberries on top and whipped cream) and Strawberry nachos (fried flour tortilla chips coated in cinnamon and sugar, Strawberry and whipped cream on top). It all looked Delicious but I couldn't hang with all the sweet stuff.

The highlight for me was the build your own strawberry shortcake tent. It was a flat charge of $5 and you could add as much as you wanted. Here is our creation:

Our Strawberry shortcake baby:

I couldn't wait. YUMMY

Dennis and his Strawberry Beer. The beer was terrible but at least the cup was cute! (He has his pinkie raised and everything, he's so classy)

We had such a good time during our busy weekend! We were so tired after all the activities, we said the same thing we say after every weekend: "Next weekend were not going to do anything" As I'm sure you can tell that never happens. It's only Monday and we already have plans for next weekend: 3 birthday parties, and Lunch/ shopping outing with Denni's friend Jessie. Hey at least it gives me something to blog about...
